Sync ("the app") is operated by Silvergrid Technologies LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email info@silvergridtech.com.
Information we collect
- Phone number. Your phone number is your account identity. We verify it by SMS and use it so friends can find you and so you can send and receive times.
- Profile. A display name and a unique username you choose.
- Friends you add. When you add a friend from your device contacts, we store that person's name and phone number on your account so we can deliver times to them. We do not upload your entire address book — only the contacts you explicitly add.
- Gameplay data. The times you send and acknowledge, your score, and which patterns you've discovered.
- Photos ("Moments"). If you capture and send a Moment, the photo is uploaded to our storage (Firebase Storage) so it can be moderated and delivered to the friends you pick. Every photo is automatically screened by Google Cloud Vision (SafeSearch) before any recipient can see it. We store the time, pattern, and recipients of each Moment in the send record.
- Device & usage data. A push-notification token, basic app analytics (e.g. screens viewed, actions taken), and crash diagnostics, to keep the app working and improve it.
How we use it
- To operate the game: matching friends by phone number, delivering times and Moments, scoring, and leaderboards.
- To send push notifications when a friend sends you a time or Moment (you can mute these in Settings).
- To automatically screen every photo for unsafe content before any recipient can see it.
- To diagnose crashes and understand how features are used so we can improve them.
Moments (photos)
- Moderation before delivery. Every photo is passed through Google Cloud Vision (SafeSearch) before it's delivered. Photos flagged for adult, violent, or otherwise unsafe content are rejected and the image is deleted immediately. Recipients never see a photo that hasn't been approved.
- Retention for recipients. A recipient can view a Moment only for 30 minutes after it's sent; after that the image is no longer accessible to them.
- Retention for senders. You keep your own approved Moments on your Activity page until you delete your account.
- Deletion. Photos rejected by moderation are deleted right away. Deleting your account permanently removes all Moments you've sent, including the underlying image files.
- Cap. To protect against runaway abuse and cost, there is a server-side cap of 60 Moments per account per day.
How information is shared
- With other users: your display name, username, and score are visible to friends and on leaderboards. When you send a time or Moment, the recipient sees your name. Photos go only to the friends you pick — there is no public feed. We do not show your phone number to other users.
- Service providers: we use Google Firebase (authentication, database, photo storage, messaging, analytics, crash reporting), Google Cloud Vision (automated photo moderation), and Apple (push delivery, the App Store). Their handling of data is governed by their own policies.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we don't run third-party ads.
Inviting friends
If you invite someone who isn't on Sync, your phone's Messages app opens a text you choose to send. We don't send messages on your behalf, and we don't store the numbers of people you invite who haven't joined.
Your choices & rights
- Notifications: mute them anytime in Settings, or in iOS Settings.
- Delete your account: Settings → Delete Account removes your profile, your sent times and Moments (including the underlying photo files), your friends list, and your username reservation. This is permanent.
- Report or block: tap the ⋯ menu on any received item to report or block the sender. Reporting also blocks them, so they can't reach you again.

Data retention
We keep your account data while your account exists. Sent times expire and become history shortly after they're sent. For Moments: recipients can view a photo for 30 minutes after sending; the sender retains their own approved Moments in their Activity until account deletion; photos rejected by moderation are deleted immediately. When you delete your account, we delete your associated data — including all photo files — from our active systems.
Children
Sync is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
